How do you work in Europe along a border that is no longer visible? 18 international diplomats dealt with this question along the Schengen border in the German southwest between Baden-Württemberg, Austria, Switzerland and France. The participants came from Ukraine, Uruguay, Chile, Tunisia, Kenya, India, Kosovo, Nigeria, Israel, Palestine, North Macedonia, the USA, France and Georgia.
After an introduction in Stuttgart to the international co-operation of the country Baden-Wuerttemberg and the city Stuttgart followed appointments in Konstanz, St. Gallen, Vaduz in Liechenstein, Rheinfelden, Freiburg, Kehl and Strasbourg. The focus was on the practical question of partnership work across borders. The speakers included Liechtenstein's Foreign Minister, the Federal Police in Konstanz, the University of St. Gallen, representatives of the Lake Constance Conference, the High Rhine Commission, civil society groups, volunteers of the volunteer fire department, employees of the European Parliament and the regional administration in Strasbourg.
The ifa Academy offers the seminars as part of a permanent cooperation with the International Diplomatic Training of the Academy of the Foreign Office.
