Terms and Conditions of ifa Akademie gGmH


1. Registration

The registration for a new course, seminar or training is possible online via our website www.ifa-akademie.de, with the registration form or in person at our registration office (ifa Akademie gGmbH, Charlottenplatz 17, 70173 Stuttgart).

We advise you to register in time, since the courses are booked out soon. Knowing the latin script is a prerequisite. Minimum age is 16 years. Your registration will be binding only after full payment of the course fees.

 

2. Payment

Course fees have to be paid latest 2 weeks after registration either cash, with EC card or established credit cards at the Akademie or as direct bank transfer to one of the Akademie accounts. All forms of payment are treated equally by ifa Akademie and no extra charges apply. Ifa Akademie is not responsible for any charges which banks or credit card companies may charge to their account holders or customers. 

Before the end of the payment-due date you will receive a payment reminder in case that you payment has not been received. After this reminder your registration will automatically cancelled shouldn't we receive the payment by the date set in the reminder. If you register four weeks prior to the start of the course or later, you will have to pay directly upon registration. If you should register for several courses (please check our discounts!), you are asked to pay the first course within 14 days after registration.

 

3. Cancellation

You can cancel or rebook your course during cancellation period.

Deadlines are:


  • Halb-level-Intensive courses: 4 weeks prior to course start 

  • all other courses: 1 week prior to course start
  • telc tests and preparation courses: 30 days prior to start

  • TestDaF: until 2 p.m. of the last day of registration, please check TestDaF website for dates  

In case of cancellation or rebooking the Akademie will charge you a cancellation fee of 25,00 Euros for summer courses, evening courses, weekend courses, additional courses, telc and TestDaF tests; 50,00 Euros for intensive courses, seminars and trainings. 

Cancellation or rebooking is not possible after the cancellation period. The entire amount is due then.

Cancellation of single lessons

Agreed dates are binding. In case of hindrance, the agreed date must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance (by phone call or e-mail), otherwise the hour will be charged

4. Placement Test


If you want to register for an intensive course, it is mandatory to pass a placement test from level A2 on. The result is binding for the placement. The test will take place 1 week prior to course start, 9 a.m. at the Akademie. If you should not be able to attend the test on this day, we will have to charge you 15,00 Euros for setting up an extra test date. If you have finished an intensive course at the Akademie already and have registered for the follow-up course, the successful completion of the first course is mandatory for the follow-up course on a higher level. Otherwise you will be placed into a course on the lower level.

 

5. Compulsory Attendance

For a successful completion of a course including the certificates/confirmations an attendance of min. 80% is mandatory in all courses. Our teachers are bound to keep record with online or manual attendance lists.

 

6. Cancellation of Courses by the Akademie

A course can only take place with a minimum number of participants. If the number of participants for intensive courses is not met 2 weeks prior to course start, the Akademie has the right to cancel the course. All other courses can be cancelled 1 week prior to course start..

7. Protection of Data Privacy


The participant agrees to the electronic collection and handling of his/her private data by the Akademie and the relevant partners for the proper execution of registration, invoicing and certification of accomplished courses.

Your data will not be used for other purposes or shared with other providers.

Private data will be stored with the Akadmie for a period of 10 years. During this period you are entitled to receive copies of your certificates. You are also entitled to our discounts for follow-up courses. After 10 years this rule does not apply anymore, every course booking is handled like a first booking.

You can object to the storage of your data any time after completion of your courses. You will then have to proof the successful completion of your courses yourself.

 

8. Place of Jurisdiction

Place of Jurisdiction is Stuttgart. All contracts are subject to German law.
